Positive & Negative Reinforcement – A terminological misnomer

We aware of the differential between what you may mean with regard to positive & negative reinforcement and that the scientific community means.
Positive reinforcement means supplying something, this can be reward based or a punishment.
Negative reinforcement means the removal of something, this could also be a reward or punishment.
I.e. taking away something frightening is interpreted as a negative reward
Our behaviourists only use positive reward, where the interpretation of positive is that of the dog, not the human.
